To talk about Lies The Liars, it's impossible not to mention the Joe and Paula Silveira project.
The Joe project was the draft that gave life to this project, which today, despite still having 80% of its initial lineup, has a much greater meaning than just music.
Paula Silveira recorded the EP Primeiro Ato in 2016, looking for members to make an experimental rock with a lot of influence from Californian punk rock and, at the same time, a lot of influence from Seattle grunge. Some say that even a Paulista emo is noticeable in her compositions, since, for a large part of her musical training, Paula was, for many years, the drummer of several original melodic hardcore bands from the BH scene, there in the 2000s. Where emo was at its peak.

With Joe, Paula Silveira, Kruger, and Peups, they released some singles, music videos, and rehearsal demos together. They had the opportunity to play at renowned venues in the BH punk scene, such as Espaço Rock Bar, Matriz, Azulzin Rock Bar, Rock da Regina, and Pampulha Rock Festival. They also had the opportunity to showcase their work at the 2018 Arraiá Punk in SP, at Morpheus. That same weekend, they played at the former Underground Pub and Zapata Cultural before closing its doors.
Disagreements separated the trio in 2019, and soon after, a global pandemic decreed the end of the project.
